The group’s 13-track album was launched at the Victory Theatre (former Umoja Theatre) in Johannesburg.

Impumelelo Shining Stars manager Christian Sibanda said the launch was a success.

“This was one of the best album launches so far and it was well-attended. The group did not disappoint its fans, but put an energetic performance,” he said.

Sibanda said the 450 seater Victory Theatre was full to the brim. He said people in South Africa were willing to assist the group even before the show.

Oscar Siziba, who leads the group, said Impumelelo Shining Stars used the launch as a platform to market its product. He said Victory Theatre was a popular rendezvous for South African celebrities.

Siziba said fans came from as far as Polokwane to witness the launch.

“We felt appreciated and I am happy we managed to put an energetic performance. Some fans ended up throwing money on the stage. Someone even parted with R1 500 and it was awesome,” he said.

Siziba said the launch was a success because of the astuteness of their management team, which engaged people who helped the group in different ways.

Impumelelo Shining Stars, which has its roots in Matabeleland South, has travelled to over nine countries.

Some of the tracks on the new album include Babawethu Osezulwini, Avulekile Amasango, African Pride, Peace In the World and We Mtanami.
