The Friday slot at the joint will see the young DJ, who is among the few female club DJs fighting for space in the male-dominated profession, showcasing her mixing skills on the turntables.

DJ Lyaness seemed to have already won the hearts of many at the joint after her debut show on Friday.

Tanza Centre manager, Richard Chibvongodze said bringing the dreadlocked wheel spinner to the joint was among a series of themed parties that they had lined up this year.

“We have come up with such an initiative as a way of bringing diversified entertainment here in Chitungwiza. Our aim is to entertain and we are looking at a diversified clientel, hence the decision to rope in DJ Lyaness for our Friday nights,” he said.

Chibvongodze said DJ Lyaness, arguably one of the country’s finest wheel-spinners, will lead the Friday shows with assistance from resident wheel spinner DJ Zidha.

“Roping in DJ Lyaness will give the audience a different music taste. I hope they will be good shows ahead of a series of themed parties that we have in store this year,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tanza Centre will reverberate to the sound of sungura as the genre’s kingpin Alick Macheso performs at the joint on Saturday alongside heir to the Pengaudzoke throne Faheem Somanje and Zimdancehall sensation Seh Calaz.

Chibvongodze confirmed to The Standard Style that the sungura ace will reconnect with his legion of Chitungwiza followers at the show that is likely to draw a full house.
