Besides being passion-driven, the Mabvuku-based model’s potential was identified by the founding president of the Modelling Industry Association of Zimbabwe and Size4 Modelling Agency president Wilbert Rukato in 2010 when she was aged 16.

“After my grooming and deportment lessons under Size4 Modelling Agency in 2012, I contested in my first professional pageant, Miss Summer Harare alongside many professional models and from there I started doing more pageants and later adverts and music videos,” Basopa said.

The 23-year-old Basopa, who draws inspiration from her mother, said sometimes she gets nervous and gets those dream-like moments, but she takes a deep breath to steady herself and go through the motions for the love of the profession.
