Moyo, who is the brains behind the Mahlalela drama series, told The Standard Style that he was already shooting some of the 10 short dramas which he intends to give the television station before end of the year.

“It’s work in progress. I am shooting 10 short dramas for ZTV. Two of them Mahlalela 10km Walk and Mahlalela Blames his Wife are almost done,” he said.

He said the other dramas being shot are Mahlalela to Know the Truth and Mahlalela to Marry a Sangoma.

Moyo, who made headlines in 2015 when he produced a drama titled Mahlalela 1, which featured South African pop star Freddy Gwala and local comedian-cum musician Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima, said he was producing the dramas under his stable Mthulisi Moyo Productions.

“I am the main actor [Mahlalela] in all the productions and I am working with Silibaziso Dube, Freddy Gwala, Mayibongwe Moyo, Vela Ncube, Vusi ‘Tshwawe’ Thanda and Mqondisi Ncube,” he said.

Moyo, based in South Africa, said he was spending most of his time on this side of the Limpopo River where he was doing the productions.

“I am in Zimbabwe most of the time trying to beat the deadline. ZTV said I should complete all the 10 dramas and give them that is why I am always on my feet,” he said.

Early this year, Moyo released a drama titled Mahlalela Inalithi, which features Tshwawe and Gwala.

“Mahlalela Inalithi is doing very well both in Zimbabwe and South Africa. I am already doing Mahlalela 2 which is a sequel to the 2014 production Mahlalela 1,” he said.

The actor said apart from Mahlalela 1, he was working with Kapfupi on a number of projects, including dramas and music videos.

“We are working with Kapfupi alongside a South African company called Madala Music Company on the projects,” he said.
