Titled Love & Lyrics, the project features female poet Rae Lyric, D-Mic and Mcknife, who also did a production alongside Craybeatx and South Africa’s Afromendez.

The new offering is endowed with mellow sound which is perfect for lovers. It also carries vernacular lyrics weaved with a largely exotic sound giving it more strength in an industry faced with cutthroat competition.

Undoubtedly, King Avry has powerful vocals and his lyrics in most songs are flawless.

He told The Standard Style that although the song he penned first on the EP titled What If was done over two years ago, he could not release it because he was facing a rough patch in life that threatened to end his fledging career.

“I was set to release a project back then but I had a lot going on; I actually got to a point where I had quit music and taken up a day job,” he said, adding that new management and band breathed life into his dream.

“I am back in music, with the aid of my phenomenal manager Florence Chaurura and my team; I see good times ahead, a lot of good music and visuals.”

One will hear the tagline Third World Fresh Prince on all his new songs and according to him, it’s a signature to represent his steps up the success ladder as he prepares to release more material into the market.

“It’s the slogan of a child who grew up with nothing and is doing all he can to make it out,” he said.

“We are working on a few things for the remainder of the year including collaborations and videos. As for the debut album, all I can say is that we are working flat out to make it one that will appeal to everyone and take Zimbabwean urban music to the world.”

The music, which is now available on digital music platforms, is set to hit the airwaves when he does a radio tour this week.
