A new five-star outdoor family entertainment joint, Hometown Coffee House and BBQ, is set to open its doors to the public soon in the leafy suburb of Pomona, Borrowdale.

The joint’s management believes their customer service is what will set their venue apart from the rest and has vowed to feed the patrons from early in the morning until late at night.

The Hometown Coffee House and BBQ representative Dimitri Adamakos said it will be an American style barbeque restaurant, with signature coffees from around the world from as far afield as Colombia, Egypt and Kenya being housed in the patisserie.

“Hometown Coffee House and BBQ will be a family-friendly restaurant and entertainment facility that will cater for a variety of taste paletes. With freshly made chocolates and baked treats by world-class chefs, Hometown will be a food enthusiast’s heaven,” he said.

“For wine connoisseurs, a selection of over 300 wine brands will be available and wine tasting sessions and signature house wines will be available.”

Adamakos said Hometown Coffee House and BBQ will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the restaurant offering buffet specials that will allow revellers to make a once-off payment and eat as much as they can from 10am to 9pm.

“While adults enjoy their meals, children will be housed in the Hansen and Gratel-styled Candy House. Parents will be able to make a once-off payment and leave their children in the care of four professional child minders who will keep the children entertained,” he said.

“In the Candy House, there will be a state-of-the-art video arcade, a candy bar and toys for the children to play with. There will be a dining area with a child-friendly menu with an eat-as-much-as-you-can buffet.”

He said outside the Candy House there is the sandbox play area. Pony rides, jumping castles and water slides will be available.

“For adults who wish to chill [relax] and hang outside, there will an open-air state-of-the-art bar with a comprehensive selection of Zimbabwean and foreign beverages and signature drinks. The bar will be facing a well-kitted performance stage with state-of-the-art lighting and trussing,” he said.

Adamakos said they had partnered with Pabloz Club to maximise on creating quality entertainment both day and night.

“Selected local and international artistes will get to grace the stage that will also play host to theatrical, dance and comedy performances. The stage’s backdrop will also be used for screening open-air movie nights,” he said.

“Behind the stage will be a beach volleyball and beach soccer facility for the more mature crowd.”
