Zimbabwe recently hosted a two-match Test series with West Indies and will play a historic four-day pink ball Test against neighbours South Africa in Port Elizabeth starting on Boxing Day.

The Boxing Day Test is set to be the start of what should be another busy season, starting with the triangular series in Bangladesh.

According to reports from Bangladesh, Sylhet International Stadium is all set to host three matches in the tri-series featuring Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

The director of Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed the news of Sylhet International Stadium hosting the international games in January, according to bdcrictime.

He told reporters that the matches will be played on January 15,17 and 19. As per the fixtures confirmed, Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka on the 15th, Sri Lanka will face Zimbabwe on the 17th and again the hosts will lock horns with Zimbabwe on the 19th.

Chittagong and Dhaka are most likely to host other remaining matches of the tri-series.

After the conclusion of the tri-series, Zimbabwe are in talks to become Afghanistan’s first Test opponents in February next year, most likely in the United Arab Emirates.

In March, they are also due to host the ICC qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup, in which two teams from 10 will proceed.

Zimbabwe is also scheduled to tour South Africa for one Test, three ODIs and a T20I in October next year.
