Africa Women Summit, Cradle of Help partner to support Dzikwa Trust

The Africa Women Summit Zimbabwe Chapter, in partnership with Craddle of Help, on Tuesday donated a consignment of sanitary pads and groceries to Dzikwa Trust as part of efforts to support vulnerable children and families under the organisation's care.

The donation was presented during a visit to the centre by a delegation led by Africa Women Summit Zimbabwe Chapter president Sibonokuhle Buhlungu and vice-president Munamato Tendai Chatikobo, accompanied by representatives from Craddle of Help.

The contribution is expected to provide much-needed relief to beneficiaries at Dzikwa Trust, an organisation that has spent more than three decades supporting vulnerable children and communities through educational assistance, life skills training, psychosocial support and empowerment programmes.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Buhlungu said the donation reflected a shared commitment to uplifting disadvantaged communities and restoring dignity to vulnerable groups.

"As women leaders, we believe in standing with communities that are making a difference in people's lives. Dzikwa Trust has an impressive history of transforming lives through education and empowerment. Our donation may seem small, but it carries a message of love, hope and solidarity with the children and families supported by this institution," said Buhlungu.

She added that partnerships between community organisations, corporates and individuals are critical in addressing social challenges.

"We encourage more stakeholders to come on board and support organisations such as Dzikwa Trust. Together, we can ensure that no child is left behind and that vulnerable members of society receive the support they deserve," she said.

Representing Craddle of Help, Josiane Tchoumemi Gagoum said the organisation was proud to partner with the Africa Women Summit Zimbabwe Chapter in supporting a cause that directly impacts vulnerable children and families.

"At Craddle of Help, we believe that meaningful change is achieved when organisations come together to serve communities in need. We are delighted to partner with the Africa Women Summit Zimbabwe Chapter in extending support to Dzikwa Trust and its beneficiaries. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, contributes to building hope, dignity and a brighter future for vulnerable children and families," said Gagoum.

Dzikwa Trust fundraising coordinator Takemore Mazuruse expressed appreciation for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention that would help address some of the organisation's immediate needs.

"We are deeply grateful to the Africa Women Summit Zimbabwe Chapter and Craddle of Help for this generous donation and for recognising the work that Dzikwa Trust continues to do within communities. The demand for our services continues to grow, and partnerships such as these help us provide critical support to vulnerable children and families who rely on our programmes," said Mazuruse.

He appealed for continued support from individuals, corporates and development partners.

"Our doors remain open to those who wish to partner with us through food donations, educational assistance, non-food relief items or financial contributions. Every contribution, regardless of size, helps us make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve," he added.

The visit underscored the importance of collaboration among community-based organisations and development partners in promoting social welfare, empowering vulnerable communities and advancing sustainable development.
