The gig is slated for the Harare International Conference Centre [HICC].

The event will also incorporate a VVIP all- white party hosted by Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure.

Ginimbi’s extravagant parties have divided opinion within the showbiz industry. They have been hosted in Harare, Domboshava (Ginimbi’s home area), South Africa and the United Kingdom. Previous parties have been strictly by invitation and people get to know about the “wild” partying in the media.

However, this time around members of the public will get a glimpse of the all-white party as it will be at the HICC as Davido and other performers go through their acts. South African actress, TV personality and model Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo will play host at the all-white party. Boity will join the Who is Who in the business fraternity and showbiz, as Ginimbi revealed that he will fly in celebrities from across Africa as well as his business associates.

“We have a number of personalities that will fly in for the concert, from Nigeria, South Africa and other countries. This event will be a star-studded concert, all glitz and glamour,” he said.

Davido has been in Zimbabwe before, but left fans disappointed after performing for less than an hour. The Nigerian star is expected to bring his 11-member band.

If Davido finally comes to Zimbabwe, the gig will present Jah Prayzah with his first ever opportunity to share the local stage with the Nigerian singer whom he featured on the song My Lily. This is after Davido failed on two occasions to show up for the My Lily concert last year. The concert was meant to promote the lanky singer’s album Kutonga Kwaro and the track My Lily.

Davido has invited surprise acts that have come in to wow the crowds. In Lagos, Wizkid came in and performed together with the If superstar. Since it is now the norm for the concert to include a surprise act, we wait to see if Ginimbi will pull it off, preferably with an international guest artiste.

Other local acts to perform on the night are Military Touch Movement’s ExQ and Killer T, who will use the opportunity to market their latest albums Tseu Tseu and Mashoko Anopfura respectively

ExQ is expected to sample tracks off his first album since he joined Jah Prayzah’s stable. A track from his forthcoming album titled Tsvigiri is doing well on social media with rave reviews on YouTube.

Killer T, who recently launched his album Mashoko Anopfura in Harare, is expected to perform tracks from his recent project. Both artistes are also expected to team up on stage and deliver the most favoured hit Nhema.

Meanwhile, Davido’s show next week will make way for another big gig in the capital, Thomas Mapfumo’s historic homecoming big bira set for Glamis Arena. The concert will also feature Oliver Mtukudzi, Winky D, Jah Prayzah and other artistes.
