Mubata started her modelling career when she was 18 while doing her ‘A’ Level in Masvingo.

She said she had taken a break because she wanted to complete her studies.

“For the past year, l was on a break because of school, but l am now back and determined to take my career to the next level and win big titles,” she said.

Despite taking a break from modelling for a while, Mubata said she was proud of the achievements she had made so far in the modelling industry.

“I am proud of the titles l have won over the years because this has shown me how dignified l am and it is proof that hard work pays,” she said.

The 24-year-old model, however, bemoaned the lack of modelling agencies in Masvingo.

“Modelling has given me a platform to acknowledge my beauty, knowledge and skills in front of the nation. The only challenge is that there are not as many modelling pageants and modelling agencies in Masvingo that can uplift the girl child,” she said.

“Modelling is not all about looks only. It is a grooming where young women gain the courage and introduce different approachies in tackling social issues and problems, hence you must really be committed if you choose modelling as a career.”

It was always Mubatas’ dream to become a model.

“I have always wanted to be a model ever since l was young and it has become a dream come true. I chose modelling because l wanted to develop and boost my self-esteem and the memories made through modelling are beyond measure,” she said.

Mubata recently completed a Human Resources Management degree but she said modelling was her passsion.

“I have been in the modelling industry for the past six years and it has been an exciting journey,” she said. The young model has won many titles, including first princess Miss Masvingo 2011, first princess Miss Masvingo Sports Club 2012, second princess Miss All Colleges Masvingo 2013, Miss GZU City Campuses 2014, Miss Culture GZU 2014, Miss GZU 2015, and 2nd princess Miss Universities Zimbabwe 2016.
