Zhakata, undoubtedly one of the country’s music superpowers, last performed at the same venue in March and is, according to the organisers, “returning due to public demand”.

The last show saw Zhakata with his popular outfit Zimbabwe All Stars bringing the house down with a polished act.

The Donza Makomborero hitmaker, who has relived his remarkable musical journey, has fallen in love with fans in Manicaland as he has promised to play songs from his eagerly-awaited album.

One of the songs titled Game Changer off the forthcoming album has become a hit during live shows.

The king of Zora heads to Mutare following a series of shows he has been holding throughout the country and the growing demand for his shows in Mutare.

This has led the management at Club Mandisa to bring him back to the city.

“There is no doubt that Zhakata is one of Zimbabwe’s music powerhouses. We are happy to host a musician of such calibre again. We are ready for the show and we encourage the fans to come early for this high-profile show,” said Club Mandisa director Boniface Nyamanhindi.

“The last time he performed here he gave a good account of himself and we witnessed a huge attendance. So, many of his followers have been clamouring for more and we had no choice, but to bring him back,” he said.

Of late, Zhakata and his Zimbabwe All Stars ensemble have been on whirlwind tours sampling songs from the forthcoming album.
