Hosted by the Mindfulness Foundation of Zimbabwe (MFZ), the event will see the novelist, behind non-fiction titles including Why Mindfulness is Better than Chocolate and Hurry Up and Meditate, mingle with readers while his books will be on sale.

“David is being hosted for a talk in Harare by the Mindfulness Foundation of Zimbabwe. MFZ promotes mindfulness through training courses and retreats,” MFZ confirmed the event in a statement.

According to organisation, mindfulness is “paying attention to our moment-to-moment experience with kindness and curiosity, and without labelling our experiences as ‘right’ or ‘wrong’.”

In a similar talk on YouTube, an online platform, titled Why Mindfulness is Better than Chocolate, Michie is quoted saying that people are much happier when they are mindful of what they are doing, which is one of the reasons behind the MFZ event.

“Turns out that it’s not so much what you’re doing that makes you happy. It’s whether or not you are being mindful of what you’re doing,” Michie said.
