Sibanda has participated in many pageants and professional photo-shoots. She was recently crowned Miss Personality at the Miss Dreams pageant in Bulawayo.

“I am a force for change. I am in a community where people judge one another by what they have, where they are from, who they know and how they look,” she said.

“I believe I am a force for change. I might be deaf, but it doesn’t move me because I know I was born for a purpose and to leave a mark in the world. That mark is opening more doors of opportunities for deaf girls like me.

“As a model, I am taking that bold step in making my community realise that even deaf girls can do what those without any impairment can do if only they are given the same opportunities.”

Sibanda engaged in arts when she was in high school where she featured in drama before shifting to modelling last year.

“I see my efforts taking me places. I wish to go further in modelling and to contest in major pageants like Miss Universe. I want to influence the world,” she said.

“I want to represent my country worldwide and also to represent the deaf and other minority groups.”
