Musa attracted the attention of many producers and music followers in the UK with his song titled Brexit that became popular for its stance towards Britain’s decision to leave the European Union.

He is among the many artistes who have released Brexit-themed songs inspired by Britain’s exit from the European bloc.

While other musicians chose to take sides on the contentious issue, Musa’s song encourages the British to be united despite having different opinions on the matter.

His unbiased musical approach to the Brexit issue gave him acres of advantage over other compositions made to explore the matter.

In an interview with The Standard Style from his UK base, Musa said he decided to engage the renowned Jamaican producers after getting advice from his Jamaican friends that frequently attend his studio sessions and assist him in making his reggae beats.

“I am happy to be working with some of the seasoned Jamaican producers who are also based here in the UK who have worked on several mega projects before. I would have wanted people to know these guys I am working with, but my lips are sealed because of the contract,” he said.

“I am fascinated to have inked such a contract with these big guys who will remain anonymous until the release of the album as they have said they want us to do everything without any pressure and let the product speak for itself. They have chosen to be known after the album is done.”

Musa says through his compositions he has always been an advocate for peace and unity.

“The underlying attributes of authentic reggae music are premised on peace, love and unity. That is the path I am taking with my music. That is why my album is titled Africa Unite. It preaches peace and unity in the continent. I believe that is why the Jamaican producers found value in my project,” he said.

“I am humbled by such recognition because I am not an established musician. It takes great faith and conviction for big producers to work with a musician in the primary stages of a career.”

Musa fell in love with music when he was still a young boy living near Murombedzi business centre, where he would occasionally see renowned local stars like Bhundu Boys and Thomas Mapfumo coming for shows.

He nurtured his talent at social gatherings as he became an adult and, when he relocated to the UK for his studies, the music shadow followed him.

As he began his professional career, Musa decided to respond to his artistic calling by doing music as a parttime activity.

The song Brexit thrust him into the imelight and inspired him to take his music exploits to a higher level.
