AN upcoming sungura musician Yassel Musheremwa, a product of the Club Mandisa’s Monday Night Jam Session, will launch his debut album titled Ko Iwe Una Ani Mundima tomorrow night at the popular joint.
The Monday Night Jam Session has become very popular with musicians as they showcase their musical prowess.
The album is laden with sungura songs that are potential hits. On Wednesday, Musheremwa, who is backed by The Spider Kings, said he was looking forward to the successful launch.
“I am very happy to be launching my album at Club Mandisa. This has been my dream to release an album and that dream has come true,” he said.
“People must come in their numbers to watch us doing our thing. We are promising them a good show. We are ready for the show and we are looking forward to taking sungura music to another level.”
Club Mandisa director Bonface Nyamanhindi said the popular joint wants to promote musicians in Mutare and Manicaland province by providing them the exposure in the industry.
“This show is special because it will see the album launch from one of our products. This shows that the Jam Sessions are bearing fruits and this has been our primary objective,” he said.
Nyamanhindi said he had noted with concern how equally talented musicians in Mutare have been failing to get exposure. The show will be hosted by Colleta Zhou.
