The fiesta, which last year attracted senior pastor of the Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas, Thomas Dexter Jakes — popularly known as TD Jakes — alongside Bishop John Francis from the United Kingdom, will feature both local and foreign artistes.

In an interview with The Standard Style, Wenyasha said getting a slot to perform was a humbling experience and he would use the stage to engage his growing fan base.

“It is a great honour to be recognised among many gospel artistes in Zimbabwe for such a prestigious festival, which is one of the biggest in the land,” he said.

“As an upcoming artiste, I feel it is a great opportunity for me to minister with people and also gauge people’s reception of my music.”

The Anogona Zvese singer said gospel music lovers should expect a set of great worship and praise as he would also introduce new projects like the latest Dadisa for the first time on stage.

Other local artistes who are billed to take to the stage at the worship fiesta include Mathias Mhere, Janet Manyowa, Nyasha Mutonhori and Jonah Chivasa, among many others.

Meanwhile, after securing partnerships with local corporates which make the event free for all to attend, Zimpraise leader Joseph Madziyire recently told our sister paper NewsDay Life & Style that they were expecting guest musicians from within the country and across Africa.

“It has always been my dream to have Zimpraise Festival, an annual event that many Christians and gospel music lovers look forward to, become a free event, allowing access to everyone. Unfortunately, in the past years, we had not gained enough partnerships to be able to do that,” he said.

“Over the years, God has allowed us to have people and corporates who understand the Zimpraise vision and support us, so we have partnered with them and given them the platform to market their products and services in exchange for sponsorship towards the event.”

As has become the norm, Zimpraise would take the festival as an opportunity to record the annual live DVD project titled Hymns Night 3.
