Katsvairo gave AFC Leopards fans a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming season as he scored the second goal in the club’s 2-0 win over Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

The former Chicken Inn and Kaizer Chiefs player was widely expected to help CAPS United fight for the title when he joined them, but he failed to perform as the team continued to struggle.

And when Leopards came calling, Katsvairo, who was reportedly still contracted to Tanzanian side Singida United, did not even wait for CAPS United’s blessings, but boarded the next flight to the east African country.

“These youngsters at times get over-excited when an email jets in or a ticket gets in the fax and sometimes you end up losing them. But let him try his luck, he has got our blessings if he makes it there, it’s good for him,” CAPS United assistant coach Nelson Matongorere said.

Katsvairo doubled his new side’s lead five minutes before the final whistle after being played through by Jafari Owiti

While Katsavairo was on target, another new signing, Eric Ndayishimiye, who joined from Rayon Sports, was impressive in goal, keeping a clean sheet.

Kenya Under-23 international winger Owiti had opened the scoring in the first half to leave KCB chasing the game as Harambee Stars coach Sebastien Migne watched from the sidelines.
