Heir to the Utakataka Music throne Peter Moyo is set to release his long-awaited fourth album in May.
Titled Mwana Wemurozvi, the album is a celebration of his Moyo totem, which is part of the VaRozvi tribe.
“My late father [Tongai Moyo] was well-known as Murozvi Mukuru, so l decided to remind Utakataka fans that the Rozvi’s son is here to stay,” Moyo said.
Moyo took over the Utakataka Express band after the death of his father and has released three albums — Mushonga Mukuru (2013), Mabasa aMwari (2015) and Mopao Mokonzi (2017).
He has done collaborations with Tryson Chimbetu, Somandla Ndebele, Trymore Bande and Batswana queen Slizer.
The Young Igwe said he was still with 80% of the guys who worked with his father and that things were going on well.
“I am still with some of the band members who worked with my father and things are going well,” he said.

Young Igwe was born on August 18, 1989 in Kwekwe and went to Kwekwe Primary and Dambudzo primary schools. He did his seconday education at Chaplin High School in Gweru where he featured in the school’s soccer team.
Moyo said he was now staying in Harare because of other businesses.
“I still love my hometown because that’s the society which nurtured me. Most of the time l go back to Kwekwe, I do shows so that l reconnect with my fans,” he said.
