Harare preacher Prophet Tapiwa Freddy is intensifying his passion — music — following the release of a single titled Chikuru Kudzoka on Friday, which is a precursor to an album titled Kastep Kenyasha set for release in July.

The charismatic man of God, popularly known for his “spiritual spectacles”, described the single as “warming up” for his fourth album that would be launched in Harare.

The single features Baba Harare, who of late has been working with the preacher on a number of music projects.

“I have released a single which is a precursor to my forthcoming album set for release in July. I have featured a number of artistes on the project, including Baba Harare, Mathias Mhere, Bethen Pasinawako-Ngolomi and Kudzi Nyakudya,” Prophet Freddy said.

Early this year, Prophet Freddy released two videos of songs Vana and Tinopembera, a song off his 2016 album titled 100 Percent Prophetic.

The video of the song Tinopembera also featured Baba Harare, Pasinawako Ngolomi and former Mukadota partner in comedy John “Chibhodhoro” Muyambo’s son, Nigel, aka Chibhoz.

“I have a passion for the arts, but it’s unfortunate that I have a demanding duty to serve God,” Prophet Freddy said.

He said the album, which is being produced by Lyton Ngolomi at Lyton Studios, will be launched at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale.

“We are doing the final touches on the album, but most of the work has been done. The single is now available and can be accessed through our church Goodness and Mercy Ministries. On Friday, I distributed the CD of the single to different radio stations,” he said.

The musicians featured on the album would also serve as supporting acts at the album launch.

Prophet Freddy described music as another way of ministering the Word of God.

Last year the preacher released a single titled Mwariwe. He has been involved in music since 2002. His other previous releases include Mesiya (2002), Serevende (2006) and 100 Percent Prophetic (2016).
