Smoko Music fans are in for a treat following revelations that Chazezesa Challengers are in the studio putting final touches to an album set to hit the streets in the next few months.

The heir apparent to Smoko Music, Isaac Tazvida, and his nephew, King, had for years been embroiled in squabbles over the inheritance of Chazezesa Challengers, a group that was founded by the late Fanuel “System” Tazvida.

The two have since buried the hatchet and are holding shows as a united Chazezesa Challengers.

The group’s manager Edmore Muchechetere told Standard Style that the reunion of the Tazvida kinsfolks had started yielding fruits.

“All things are now in order for the much-awaited album signifying the reunion of Isaac and King Tazvida,” said Muchechetere.

“The album consists of six tracks, including Vanosimudzira Marombe, Isu VeSmoko and Vatete, among others.”

Muchechetere said Chazezesa Challengers were currently doing live shows and reconnecting with Smoko Music fans.

“We have been holding shows around the country and fans like the way Isaac and King are doing to keep the Smoko legacy alive. I am happy the guys are reconnecting with fans that used to follow System’s music,” he said.

The death of the father of Smoko Music, System Tazvida, in 1999 followed by that of Peter Tazvida, three years later, could have marked the demise of Smoko Music, but thanks to the reunion of Isaac and King.
