TOP clothing entity, Chasers Clothing Wear, says local consumers want high-quality fashion products in a market flooded with local fashion designers.

Chasers Clothing Wear, which has been dubbed a label for the elite by many, was founded by 27-year-old Richmond Mlambo in 2015 and specialises in modern-day unique street wear.

“We specialise in the modern-day unique and cargo-look streetwear, which I believe is a style that has no boundaries on how you dress or colours to wear which as well merges with the brand vision that dreams have no limits and as well you are never too young to build an empire or too old to build a dream,” Mlambo said.

“Chasers is a collective name I came up with to unite the youth to chase their dreams and passion together regardless of any challenges that one can face.” Speaking on the fashion market in Zimbabwe, Mlambo said the market is responsive and wants quality.

“I would say everyone who believes in pursuing a dream, but mainly the youth, is our target market,” he said.

“I would say the market is welcoming because there are a lot of people supporting us and who love to wear local brands.

“The market is very fastidious about quality and the material used so you definitely have to provide the best products and quality so as to give them a good reason why you are better than a foreign brand.”

Not just the local brand a hit on the urban streets and also on social media, Chasers has been featured on South Africa’s Vuzu TV. They have dressed South African singer Cassper Nyovest and Ricky Rick as well as locals Pokello Nare, Jah Prayzah and Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure.

“I would say by providing a comfortable and unique style, that stands out, which is always the priority of every well-known person when they go out, is the main reason why we have managed to attract and still attract celebrities to work with us and we appreciate their contribution to the growth of our brand,” said Mlambo.

The local fashion brand is set to unveil their range of winter collection, which includes tracksuits, jackets, hoodies, joggers and many more products.

“Our winter designs will be unique. We used heavy material that will be able to keep people warm and stand out, we won’t give out much information on our winter collection, we will keep it as a surprise to our clients,” he said.
