Versatile Gweru musician Forward “Xiddo” Maposa has put together his fifth album that is set to see him scale up the pyramids of showbiz. He will launch the album on Friday.

Titled Ziya Rangu, the album consists of six tracks which include Hazvigoni, Itai Muchindidzora featuring Zizoe and Zvarinoitaso Rudo featuring Pcee.

Maposa experimented with various sounds on the album and in his collaboration with Zizoe, he sang a touching biblical track which has already won the hearts of many gospel music followers.

“My music is just contemporary and l sing a collection of genres such as Afro-pop, Zimdancehall, and reggae among others,” Xiddo said.

“Unlike other musicians who stick to one genre, l use various sounds in my music so that l can attract wider listenership.”

The album was produced by Flammes, one of the finest producers emerging from Midlands province, and some of the tracks are already receiving favourable airplay on local radio stations.

The youthful artiste is currently working on videos of some of the tracks from his previous albums.

“Shooting videos is very essential for upcoming musicians for marketing purposes so that they become known better by their fans,” he said.

Maposa is one of the most popular musicians in Gweru and has been doing good in his career lately. With support from promoters, the musician will reach greater levels.

He recently shared the stage with Jah Signal at Midlands State University at a musical gala organised by the National Aids Council.

Last month, Maposa opened a state-of-the-art recording studio and it has already begun functioning.
