ZIMOCO says it has expanded its services offering at its Sam Levy showroom as the dealership tries to bring the convenience of an upmarket service facility closer to its clients.

This is sweet news, especially to those from the northern suburbs.

Previously the firm relied on its workshop in the Workington industrial area for services, while the Borrowdale branch only served as a showroom and provided minor services.

Bella Haytes Zimoco’s finance manager said the range of services offered at the Borrowdale branch would expand from minor services and diagnostics to encompass other services.

“We are basically saying you do not have to disrupt your routine when your car is undergoing service. What you do not want is to be inconvenienced by not having transportation,” Haytes said.

“We have slowly started moving other services to this side of town. So, you can bring the vehicle and leave it with us while you do your shopping, have your lunch or got to the gym and collect it once you are done.”

“We offer on-line bookings, but walk-in customers are equally welcome and also offer a recovery service in the case of vehicle breakdowns.”

Rudi Botha, Zimoco’s after-sales manager said the company only sources genuine parts from its partners at competitive rates without compromising on the quality of service.

“We always try to remain as competitive as possible with all our labour rates and any OEM discounts that we receive on parts is passed onto the customer,” Botha said.

“Clearly, there is often a price gap between genuine and alternate parts but discounts do narrow that gap and generally, customers prefer that Zimoco offers genuine parts.”

Botha added that Zimoco ensures that their technicians receive regular technical training and are appropriately equipped with modern technology.

“The Zimoco training facility has often been the preferred venue for the training of technical staff from a number of neighbouring Mercedes-Benz dealers in other African states by trainers from Daimler AG for all Mercedes-Benz models. In the case of FCA [Fiat, Chrysler Automobiles], technicians attend technical courses in South Africa,” said Botha.

“As the only approved dealer in Zimbabwe for Mercedes-Benz and FCA vehicles, Zimoco only utilise approved diagnostic machines for all the various franchises that we represent.

“The star diagnostic equipment is used for all Mercedes Benz vehicles, Witech equipment is used for FCA product, MUT III is used on all Mitsubishi product and Launch equipment is used on GWM/Haval vehicles.

“We remind you also that in the case of MB and FCA vehicles, Zimoco has real time on-line access for resolving the more technical issues with the Brands.”
