SUNGURA singer Aliah Mwanambo, popularly known as First Farai in showbiz circles, has lined up a series of live shows as he takes his latest and 17th album Dzinodhonza Ngoro across the country.

In an interview with Standard Style, First Farai described the shows as part of his 2020 “new approach of doing business”.

He said he wants to take his music to fans out there and afford them the opportunity to mix and mingle with him and his Hurudza Express band.

“This year we will be doing things in a different way,” First Farai said.

“We have come up with a strategy that will see our fans getting to know more of me better as we take our music to them.

“We will be travelling across the country starting this coming week.”

He said it was him and Hurudza Express that should go to the fans, not the other way round.

“Our fans need not worry this time around as we will be visiting them this year wherever they are… Hurudza Express will come,” he said.

The burly sungura musician kicks off his tour of duty with a show on Friday at Club 727 in Filabusi before taking his act to Club Donhodzo in Mberengwa the following day.

Other shows lined up include a trip to Mhangura’s 7 Million Beerhall and Kuwadzana Beerhall in Banket on March 6 and March 7, respectively.

First Farai is riding high with his latest offering, a six-track album titled Dzinodhonza Ngoro which carries hit songs such as Mbudzi Inodya Payakasungirirwa, I Have Moved On, Kochekera, Nguva Inonetsa, Rutendo Rwemunhu and the title track.

“This Dzinodhonza Ngoro album is a testimony that I am still in the game though not for competition,” he said.

“For me, I am not into music for competition, but to complement each other, that is why we sometimes share the stage at the same concert.”

The sungura musician, who has been in showbiz for more than two decades, made a grand entrance into the mainstream music industry with the track Secret Number off his debut album Simba Nacho before releasing other projects that included Earthquake-Chandengenda, Zvandakuitirai Izvi, Zvipo Netariro, Maximum Voltage, Tiritose Mundima Machinda, Mbanga Mbanga, Ngingo Ngingo, Dinga Tinga Experience, Hubwada Experience, Pahasha Love Market and Mukonon’ono.
