Gweru-based radio station 98.4 Midlands has received the thumbs-up for introducing a new gospel show, which has a potpourri of segments that gratify its diverse listenership.

The gospel — show dubbed Sunday Breakfast Gospel — is hosted by Tehilla Gocha, aka DJ Tehilla, and Tawanda Sibanda, who is popularly known in gospel circles as Pastor Tee.

It airs from 6am to 11am every Sunday.

DJ Tehilla is also a gospel artiste famed for her hit song titled Aye, while Pastor Tee is a preacher at the Windsor Park Church of Christ in the city.

The pair, according to the radio station’s listeners, has brought a new dimension to 844 Midlands’ programming.

“I am an avid listener of the radio station, but I think the Sunday Breakfast Gospel show has given impetus to 98.4 Midlands,” said Tinomuda Chihora.

Chihora, a gospel artiste and music teacher, said the introduction of new features on the gospel programme caters for all age groups.

“They have introduced new interesting features that make the listeners get glued to the station in anticipation for thrills,” he said.

Some of the segments that constitute the five-hour programme include Did You Know, Proverbs, Joke of the Day, Inspirational Quote of the Day, Gospel Retro, Gospel Oldies and Midlands Special.

A listeners’ choice top 10 gospel music segment will be introduced soon and has been running on trial for the past two weeks.

98.4 Midlands is the first commercial radio station in Gweru, having started broadcasting in 2016 with live broadcasts beginning a year later.
