The company, which is the brainchild of journalist and brandpreneur Takemore Mazuruse, got the Best Growth Public Relations and Communications Agency award as well as the Best Influencer Strategy award at the Public Relations and Communications Excellence Awards hosted by the Institute of Public Relations and Communications Zimbabwe on Thursday night.

More accolades were to come as they also bagged Company of the Year Special Recognition in Advertising, Communications, PR and Marketing Services and were named in the 2020 Top 100 Business Brands at the Zimbabwe Business Awards on Friday night.

Of these awards, Mazuruse, who also got individual accolades for his exploits in the public relations, advertising, communications and marketing services sector, said he was happy that the company was getting due recognition.

“Esteem Communications started over 10 years ago as a briefcase consultancy whereby friends in business who appreciated my skills and pedigree would engage me for specific assignments and small consultancy jobs,” Mazuruse said.

“The results were always amazing because I love brands and always give my all. Ten years on, Esteem Communications is now a fully-fledged public relations, marketing and advertising agency with full-time staff and offices in Avondale West, Harare. We have carried out various marketing campaigns and manage some of the biggest brands in Zimbabwe.”

The unassuming brand strategist was also happy to have received individual accolades from the Megafest Business Awards and the Zimbabwe Business Awards in recognition of the strides that his vision at Esteem Communications is making.

“Beyond the Esteem Communications specific awards, I also won gold in the Entrepreneur of the year category at Megafest Business Awards before getting the Businessman of the year Special Recognition in Advertising, Communications, Public Relations and Marketing Services,” he said.

“We have over the years committed ourselves to helping brands realise their full potential and we are happy to be playing our part in growing brands that are fast carving a niche in their respective sectors.

“Three of the brands we work with actually got excellence awards at the Zimbabwe Business Awards as well as at the Megafest Business Awards and that is a demonstration of the value we are giving.”

Creative director at Esteem Communications, Walter Chiyanja, said the company’s achievements during the 2020 business year were a precursor of even bigger things in 2021.

“This year we really stretched ourselves and made sure that all our clients excel in spite of the Covid-19 limitations,” Chiyanja said.

Esteem Communications works with brands from registration, corporate identity development through to brand activation and positioning and has continued to receive acclaim for its market-tested strategies.

The company started operations in 2010 as a briefcase consultancy, but was officially registered in 2014.
