Prominent Victoria Falls businessman and arts promoter Paul Shambare, known as Elder Shambare (pictured below) in showbiz circles, was recently rewarded for his philanthropic work.

He was conferred with three honorary doctorate degrees, namely the Humane Letters, Honorius Causa and Honorary Doctorate of Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship, as well as the Honorary Doctorate of Business Leadership, Innovation & Maverick Leadership Degree from the International Institute of Philanthropy, International Women’s University and Maverick University respectively.

The businessman, who is into freight cargo, shipping and clearing, automatically became a fellow of the International Women’s University.

Shambare was among five other people conferred with the honorary degrees at a private ceremony presided over by the president of Maverick University Enrico Sibanda.

“These doctorate degrees are in honour of my significant contribution to humanity, society and philanthropy. They also honour Dr Shambare’s innovation and leadership,” said Sibanda.

Shambare is the founder and director of Express Cargo and Express Entertainment.

Elder Shambare also scooped the Businessman of the Year (2020) gong in the Freight Cargo Logistics, Clearing, Forwarding, Shipping and Leadership Excellence category at the recently held Zimbabwe Business Awards ceremony. His company Express Cargo walked home with the Company of the Year award in the Freight Cargo Logistics, Clearing, Forwarding and Shipping sector.
