SOUTH Africa-based Zimbabwean soul gospel musician, Oliver Matsika has started the New Year on a strong footing after releasing his debut DVD with a collection of his songs.

The talented musician, who relocated to South Africa many years ago to pursue his musical career, has two albums under his belt.

The DVD has three songs Jerusalem, Ndasarudza/Ngikhethile and Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe was taken from his first album titled Prayer and Testimony, which was released in 2015, while the other two songs were taken from his second album titled 24/7, released in 2017.

“My first album was released in 2015, it’s called Prayer and Testimony with 11 tracks, including Zimbabwe which l shot the video that same year,” Matsika said.

“Due to financial challenges l couldn’t do more videos because l am that kind of person who believes in quality, not quantity.

“I have the released my first DVD so that my fans have something to cheer about during the start of the new year.”

Last year Matsika collaborated with Democratic Republic of Congo musician Benzo in a single titled Mama Africa themed to celebrate the beauty of Africa. He said the duet was inspired by his love of Africa.
