KADOMA-BASED emerging gospel singer and songwriter Minister Tonde Machamacha has released his debut single titled Uchararama to preach the message of hope after the outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic that has killed millions of people across the globe.

The song was produced by Tinashe “Mute Bass Mutemererwa at Eternity Studios in Harare.

The multi-talented singer, who is also a teacher at Focus Learning Centre in Kadoma, told Standard Style that people must not lose hope in times of calamities.

“The song Uchararama was inspired by the current global situation after the outbreak of Covid-19 in March last year. It (the song) is a reminder to us as God’s creation, of the life Jesus died for and gave to us,” he said.

“As we listen attentively, the song urges people to declare that no matter the negativity around us, good life is our portion. I feel so much for the people who have been affected by Covid-19 and it is my hope that this pandemic comes to an end and it is possible through prayer.”

Minister Tonde said he was happy to launch his musical journey with the release of Uchararama.

“I have worked with Mute Bass in Kadoma for years at church level and it was our hope that someday we will have the whole world listening and witnessing what God has deposited in us. We are grateful to God as we feel that this is the beginning of the journey,” he said.

“My compositions are inspired by the Word of God in its entirety as I believe that I am an extension of the ministry of God’s Word through music. So, the principle is pretty much taking the Word at its meaning and send it to the people in a way that they can easily receive.”

He said if everything goes according to plan, the video of the song would be released in a few months.

Minister Tonde is under the mentorship of Eternity Productions CEO Macdonald “Macdee” Chidavaenzi, who is a renowned producer and singer on his own.
