MATABELELAND Cultural Awards Trust will host the Umthwentwe International Cultural Expo at Township Square in Bulawayo in an effort to showcase the region’s culture.

The trust’s chief executive officer Philani Ncube told NewsDay Life & Style, that they were expecting several groups to participate.

“This year we are expecting to have different groups who will be cooking different traditional foods and indigenous authors from all over the country who are capable of writing in languages like Ndau, Tonga and Ndebele, among others,” he said.

“We appeal for people to join us as we strive to preserve our national culture. We are inviting exhibitors to come and showcase their cultural products and these include traditional dishes, traditional dances, among others.”

Ncube said they were expecting Destin Comer from Zambia to officiate at the event, but for some reason he would not be able to travel.
