AFTER a long sabbatical, Zambia-based rapper and singer Sinbad 90 says his day-to-day lifestyle has inspired him to come up with an album, titled Bhundu Lifestyle.

Bhundu is another word for the jungle or forest. Sinbad 90, born Innocent Stambuli is based in Siavonga, a resort area that is rich in wildlife.

“My album is 80% done a waiting a few features. Im also working on a release budget and distribution channels so that when we drop the album, it is easily accessible to the audience,” Sinbad 90 said.

“The album will portray the real life of Sinbad 90 as well as Innocent Stambuli. There are motivational tracks that push the youth to work hard in any way. There are tracks that also talk of gold panning and farming, which was inspired by my upbringing in the gold mining and farming town of Kadoma. I also have party tracks that should help quench their thirst from day-to-day hustling.”

Quizzed why he had taken a sabbatical, he answered: “I have been away for some years because I wanted to recreate myself and re-focus.”

“I was also deep in the hustle trying to make money for the family. I now have two boys, Craig and Curtis. So as a young Zimbabwean I have to take care of my young family. Lockdown has also affected many young artists, there are no shows and no income coming in.

“Fortunately, I am back with a bang and will be giving you more music since I have set up a studio at home and I am recording almost every day.”

Sinabd 90 recently released a track titled Muridzi Wemoyo with Proggiey from Chinhoyi.

Sinbad 90 has worked with artistes such as Noble Stylz, Jnr Brown, DJ Drew, Thabbz, Chacha, Soko Matemai, Take Fizzo, and many more.
