AFTER dazzling at the second edition of the Bulawayo arts festival, artiste Spanchi Omnyama, born Blessing Nonhlanhla (pictured), has joined the crew at NashTV and describes the online television channel as “the place to be”.

Spanchi was unveiled as the new presenter of the channel on their Facebook page, drawing congratulatory comments from viewers and fellow artistes.

Spanchi was part of the spoken word event hosted at the Bulawayo Theatre, which featured comedians Ntando Van Moyo, Ezra and Zwe.

Spanchi dazzled the audience with her well thought poetry, leaving many asking for more.

“The experience is amazing, I love my job so much,” Spanchi said.

“I am a people’s person. Joining NashTV has taught me to be patient as God’s time is always perfect.

“So many people are in school and studying for what I am doing, but this to me is a whole heavenly gift, coming to me at the age of 18.

“At first I would be ashamed of my age, to say that I’m young but I’m proud to be 18 and doing well.”

“NashTV is just the place to be, the crew and just everyone we work with are good people, more like a family working under one roof.”

Before joining NashTV, Spanchi, who turns 19 in August, said she has been on a solo mission, but collaborating with others.

Spanchi, who juggles being a singer, TV personality, spoken word artist and model described herself as art.

“Spanchi is an artist, more than that actually I’m art,” she said.

“I discovered bits and pieces of myself as I grew, it’s crazy that I’m still growing, but I have grown in the industry.

“I write and perform spoken word poetry in isiXhosa and isiZulu, I’m an actress, I am a presenter, I paint and dance.”
