THREE men from Mutoko fatally assaulted a 25-year old man after accusing him of dating a woman who was in a relationship with one of them.
Livingstone Mapeto (23), his younger brother Rutendo (20) and Tendai Kembo (29), all of Hoyuyu Village, Mutoko, face charges of fatally assaulting, Lovemore Nyabadza. Mashonaland East police deputy provincial spokesperson Assistant Inspector Misheck Denhere confirmed the arrest of the trio.
Denhere said on August 14 at around 7pm, Nyabadza went to Chidowe Business Centre with his girlfriend. Upon arrival at the business centre, the lovebirds met the three suspects who accused him of having an affair with a girlfriend belonging to one of them.
Nyabadza was struck by a wire on the face by one of the suspects. One of the suspects then picked a log and struck Nyabadza on the head, and he fell to the ground.They continued assaulting him until he became unconscious before fleeing from the scene.
