Prophet Tapiwa Freddy has failed to appear in court again in a legal dispute with Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd over a residential plot in Kadoma.
The case, which began on February 7, has been postponed seven times due to Freddy’s absence.
Kudakwashe Taruberekera, founder and CEO of Craft Properties, the company had donated a residential stand to Freddy in 2016, but revoked it in 2021 due to unfulfilled conditions.
Freddy reported the matter to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission early this year, alleging corruption in the revocation process.
“I can’t say much since this case is before the courts,” said Taruberekera outside the court on Friday.
“We are disappointed by the continued absence of Prophet Tapiwa Freddy from court proceedings.
“This is a serious matter, and we expected all parties to show due respect to the legal process.
“The case has been in the court from February 7, 2025 and appeared in court for seven times.
“The court has not yet ascertained the real charge that Prophet Tapiwa Freddy is accusing Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd and me of.”
The case has been pending in the Kadoma magistrate court, with the next hearing scheduled for June 2.
The dispute has raised questions about the enforcement of donor agreements in property transactions and the potential delays in resolution due to Freddy's absence.
Attempts to reach Freddy’s lawyer Jivas Mudimu for comment were unsuccessful as his phone was not reachable.
