A 72-year-old Bindura man who allegedly raped a grade two pupil has been denied bail.
Lazarus Chiku of Chiweshe village was advised to apply for bail at the High Court by magistrate Amos Mbobo.
Prosecutor Clever Nyapfani alleged sometime in December last year, the victim's step mother sent her to Chiku's house to ask for matchsticks.
The suspect dragged her into his bedroom and raped her once.
After the sexual assault, he gave her the matchsticks and threatened her with harm if she told anyone about the incident.
The minor went home crying and revealed the matter to her step mother.
A police report was filed leading to his arrest.
