Makseth International, a private school in Kadoma, says it is committed to holistic education through its emphasis on international exposure and personal development.
Levison Tizira(48), a proud father of 11-year-old Theophilius, recently shared his excitement about his son's transformative journey to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In Dubai, Theophilius not only competed in a prestigious tennis tournament but also clinched a silver medal, marking a significant milestone in his growth.
"As parents, we are thrilled that the school offers our children such international experiences," Tizira expressed.
“This exposure helps them mature psychologically and builds their confidence to conquer the world."
Tizira reflected on the school’s proactive approach: "When the school announced plans for international trips, we rallied together to support them financially, knowing how valuable these experiences would be."
In November last year, the school organised a friendly tournament with ISM Dubai , where Theophilius excelled, further showcasing the institution's dedication to nurturing both academic and psychomotor skills.
Tizira noted, "The extracurricular activities keep the children engaged and prepare them for a dynamic future."
Since opening its doors in Kadoma, Makseth has set a high standard for holistic education, already facilitating sporting exchange programs with renowned clubs internationally.
The school boasts a state-of-the-art soccer pitch, complete with floodlights and artificial turf, spanning 2,000 square meters – a training ground used by elite players during the December 2022 World Cup in Doha.
In addition to sports, Makseth has hosted international performances, such as collaboration with the acclaimed Kutandara Arts Marimba team from the United States, joining only the top three Marimba schools in Zimbabwe.
Tizira emphasised the importance of these extracurricular activities in keeping students engaged and preparing them for future challenges.
Principal Talent Bako said she is passionate about enriching students' educational experiences.
"International exposure and competition enhance cultural awareness and personal growth," she stated.
Such experiences inspire students to think beyond their classrooms, fostering ambition and creativity.
"When students visit places like the Museum of the Future in Dubai, they envision possibilities, even dreaming of becoming astronauts," Bako noted.
“These motivations fuel their learning journey."
Bako highlighted the holistic benefits of international exposure: "It significantly boosts confidence and self-esteem. Navigating new environments teaches students to approach challenges with a fresh perspective."
The school also emphasises physical fitness and teamwork through sports, collaborating with international schools and clubs.
In addition to a scenic learning environment, Makseth introduces foreign languages like Chinese, preparing students for a globalised world.
"Makseth is more than just an educational institution," Bako added.
“It is a nurturing ground for future global citizens. By prioritising international exposure and extracurricular activities, we equip our students for both academic success and a life rich with opportunities and challenges."
