A Bindura man will curse the day he decided to insult President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy Constatino Chiwenga after he was jailed for the offence.
Antony Sande (42) of Foothills farm in Bindura was sentenced to one year behind bars by Bindura magistrate Ruramai Chitumbura for the insults.
Chitumbura, however, conditionally suspended three months of his sentence.
Prosecutor Sheila Kudzai Maribha told the court that on February 27, the convict met Ratidzai Marumahopo, who was mending a tyre at Foothills farm.
Unprovoked, Sande pointed a finger at her, while uttering vulgar words in Mnangagwa and Chiwenga names.
Sande denounced the duo's leadership saying he preferred a Nelson Chamisa presidency ahead of the two.
Marumahopo subsequently filed a police report, leading to his arrest.
Sande was being represented by the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.
