Former Zanu PF central committee member Blessed Geza says President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s response to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s pleas to arrest businessmen accused of looting state resources has vindicated his calls for the 83 year-old ruler to step down.
Geza, a war veteran who was expelled from the ruling party early this year after he started calling for Mnangagwa’s resignation for allegedly allowing corruption to fester, was referring to the Zanu PF leader’s rebuttal of a dossier presented to him by Chiwenga.
The VP gave the president the dossier on September 17 at a politburo meeting where he called for the arrest of businessmen Kudakwashe Tagwirei, Wicknell Chivayo, Delish Nguwaya and Scott Sakupwanya for allegedly siphoning billions of dollars from the state.
In a response presented by Zanu PF secretary for legal affairs Ziyambi Ziyambi at a politburo meeting this week, Chiwenga was accused of plotting a coup against the president and smearing the controversial businessmen.
Geza issued a statement yesterday accusing Mnangagwa of choosing to side with the businessmen, now known as zvigananda, ahead of the interests of long suffering Zimbabweans
“Ziyambi’s document is not a defence of law — it’s an admission of guilt,” Geza said.
“It proves that the Mnangagwa administration has abandoned its constitutional mandate and chosen to protect thieves over citizens.”
The outspoken war veteran said the rebuttal presented by Ziyambi was “an unforgivable insult to every Zimbabwean.”

“When a regime prioritises paying criminals over stocking hospitals with medicine, it loses all legitimacy,” he said.
“This administration is now the political wing of zvigananda, a cartel of looters.”
Geza has been calling on Zimbabweans to join protests against Mnangagwa on Friday as he piles pressure on the Zanu PF leader.
He says the protests must result in the president’s resignation and the arrests of his close associates, who are allegedly siphoning billions of dollars from the state
“The time for fear is over,” he said. “Every patriotic Zimbabwean must rise to defend their future.
“The Mnangagwa government has chosen its side, now the people must choose theirs.”
“Ziyambi’s response has confirmed what many already knew.
“Mnangagwa is no longer leading Zimbabwe, he is protecting a syndicate.”
Ziyambi’s leaked document accused Chiwenga of being behind Geza. The Justice minister said the VP potentially violated many laws by producing the dossier that he presented to Mnangagwa.
He said Chiwenga had shown that he was a good candidate for the Chitepo School of Ideology because he had demonstrated that he does not understand Zanu PF processes.
