Popular comedian Comic Elder, born Leroy Zaware, who received a brand-new Ford Ranger Raptor from President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday, has received a parking fee exemption for the car from City Parking.

The comedian was honoured by Mnangagwa in recognition of his outstanding contribution to entertainment and the arts.

The gesture, which has been widely celebrated on social media, underscores the growing acknowledgment of creative talent by Mnangagwa and controversial businessman Wicknel Chivayo.

In a show of appreciation, City Parking yesterday also announced that Comic Elder’s new vehicle would be exempted from paying parking fees until December 31, 2025.

“Congratulations to Comic Elder for receiving a wonderful gift of Ford Ranger Raptor from His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa. Thank you Your Excellency for recognising talent,” City Paking said in a statement.

“We extend our appreciation by exempting the vehicle from paying parking fees until December 31, 2025!”

Fans and fellow artists have congratulated Comic Elder for the presidential recognition, describing it as a well-deserved honour for a performer who continues to bring laughter and positivity to audiences across the country.

He joined a long list of influencers that have been gifted cars by Mnangagwa and Chivayo.
