A Harare transporter has been charged with murder after he allegedly assaulted a passenger, who had requested his 50 cents change leading to his death.
Luckmore Kamangile (27) who is represented by Claire Taderera appeared before Harare magistrate Tapiwa Kuhudzai facing murder charges.
Kamangile was remanded in custody pending indictment to the High Court for trial.
He was advised by the court to approach the High Court for bail.
Allegations are that on November 20 this year, the now deceased Among Kalimba boarded a vehicle that was driven by Kamangile at George Shops to Mutamba Shopping Centre in Ruwa.
The deceased and Kamangile had a misunderstanding over 50 cents bus fare change.
The accused person assaulted the now deceased with an object and he left him lying on the road and went away.
The now deceased's wife was later called by witnesses and told her that her husband had been assaulted.

The deceased was taken to a 24-hour clinic where he was attended and discharged the following morning.
The now deceased was later found by her wife lying lifeless at home and this led to Kamangile's arrest.
There are several reports of commuters fighting with transport operators over change as the local currency is not widely in circulation.
This has seen transport operators giving commuters sweets and chewing gums worth 50 cents as change.
In some instances, transport operators have raised their fares to US$1 to avoid disputes over change.
