Prominent TikTok user Caution Madiro Chikonamombe, popularly known as Secautions Chikonamombe, appeared before Bindura magistrate’s court on Friday facing a theft charge.
The 29-year-old is accused of failing to import a Honda Fit after receiving money from a client.
According to the state, sometime in February last year, the Harare-based Chikonamombe was asked by a Bindura client to provide the cost of importing a Honda Fit GP5 from Japan to Zimbabwe.
He told the client the price would be US$8 000.
The client deposited US$3 000 into Chikonamombe’s NMB bank account on March 5 last year.
On March 24, the suspect visited the client, Brighton Njekete (27), and received the remaining US$5 000 balance.
Chikonamombe issued a receipt for the payment.
He assured Njekete that the car would be delivered by the end of April last year.

However, after he began giving various excuses, Njekete filed a police report, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
