Walking with God our Father

Matthew 6:34 in the New King James Version (NKJV)

EVERYDAY as believers, we fend off satanic attacks and demonic machinations. Sometimes we do not realise that we are fighting because God always watches over us dealing with issues beyond our natural purview. However, in some situations we notice the pressure and our regenerated spirit is resisting the devil and indeed the devil flees. Sometimes the pressure is so intense that we wish God anaesthetises us so that we wake up after the ordeal.

Yes, we might be enticed to sleep and just wish that the problem or issue would have melted like dew in the morning. However, the joy of salvation is experienced when we participate with God and see the devil lose as he always does. The moment we got born again, it was a declaration to satan and his cohorts that we are enemies. However, most importantly, it was an acceptance of Jesus’ victory over evil to be our portion.

Sometimes battles rage on for longer than our comfort but we know that Jesus already won the war, and we are just watching a delayed match in which our team which is Team Jesus won the match. Is it not a great feeling and sigh of relief to look over the shoulder and see the devil running away and angels ministering to us? Oh, how sweet it is to see our spiritual muscles grow bigger and even feeling the compelling impetus to sign up for higher level of the war because we would have grown stronger and become more knowledgeable of God our Father! That is spiritual growth.

Here is the good part... Jesus taught us that we deal with one day at a time. Matthew 6:34 in the New King James Version (NKJV) reads, “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” We, therefore, never get so overwhelmed to the point of giving up. We therefore look forward to tomorrow with hope and not foreboding fear and trepidation.

We are, therefore, even excited at prospects of aiming for more territory tomorrow. In that way, we grow, progress and advance. We relate with Lamentations 3:22-23, “[22] It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [23] They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Very assuring. In our walk of faith, we become totally dependent on God alone for His mercies endure forever.

The Christian Faith is a surrender to God’s wisdom, totally relying on Him. We are subservient to His direction and promptings of the Holy Spirit. All our matters remain in His hands, and we never take matters into our own hands. Wisdom teaches us in Proverbs 3:5-6, “[5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” We walk with God our Father.

Our attitude and approach to life will be through the lenses of Christ seated on the right hand of Majesty. Nothing becomes impossible for us with God. We, therefore, reign in life. The rightly divided Word of Truth becomes our compass and a reality as we actualise it.

As new creation/creatures, we know that we are in Christ and inseparably dominate situations and circumstances together according to Romans 8:17, “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

Setbacks become our building blocks for tomorrow. Today’s experience in victory combined with seeming failure become the wisdom of God in us. We, therefore, can see the hand of God upon our lives and rejoice in Scriptures such as Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Whenever God wants to use us, we will be ready to say yes because we know that whatever He wants to do to, with, by and through us is good. Please remember that He wants to get glory and honour through our vessels if we are available. 2 Corinthians 2:15, NKJV, reads, “For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.”

We are ready to be associated with Zechariah 13:9, NKJV, “I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, 'This is My people'; And each one will say, 'The LORD is my God.” Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
