Premier Soccer League (PSL) chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa says the league will not change its rules to save Dynamos from relegation, should the Harare giants fail to avoid the drop.
Despite showing signs of life in recent weeks, the struggling side is currently second from the bottom of the log standings with 22 points, five adrift of the safety zone.
With nine matches left in the season, including a crucial clash this afternoon against fellow relegation contenders GreenFuel at Rufaro Stadium, the threat of relegation still looms large for the country's most successful club.
For many observers, the possibility of Dynamos being relegated has sparked concerns that external forces might intervene to save the club, with some even suggesting that the PSL could suspend relegation for the season.
However, PSL chairman and former Dynamos chairman, Mupfurutsa, has firmly put an end to such speculation.
"Dynamos is a big brand, it has the richest history," Mupfurutsa stated.
"It has a huge following and has contributed a lot to our local football...
“But we, as the league, we are guided by the rules and the principles of fair play.

“We believe that teams should be equal. The only competition which should make a difference should happen on the pitch. We are hoping that they are working on strategies to survive."
Mupfurutsa believes that the recent changes to the Dynamos technical team, including the appointment of coach Kelvin Kaindu, should be enough a catalyst to help the club survive.
Since taking over, Kaindu who has been tasked with the monumental task to pull the club out of the fire, has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround.
He has won four consecutive games in all competitions and bringing a much-needed spark to the squad.
The victories were achieved against title chasers MWOS and Kwekwe United in the league, as well as leading the club into the quarterfinals of the Chibuku Super Cup quarterfinals.
"They have done some changes and brought in a new coach and have also made some new player additions in the last transfer window," Mupfurutsa said.
"As the league, there is absolutely nothing much we can do to say we can save Dynamos because we would have gone against the rules and principles of fair play."
A confident Kaindu believes his squad has the quality to avoid relegation.
"Every game is important to us looking at the position we are at," he said at a recent press conference. "We have shown a lot of improvement, we have picked up points away from home, and we just hope that we keep up the momentum."
Today's match against GreenFuel, who are only five points ahead of them, is a critical "six-pointer" that could define their season.
A win would not only move them closer to safety but would also send a powerful message that Dynamos will not go down without a fight.
Despite GreenFuel's poor form, having won only one of their last eleven matches, Kaindu remains cautious.
"They are very unpredictable," he warned. "On their day, they can create a lot of problems."
The team's long-standing goal-scoring struggles also appear to be a thing of the past.
The team has scored five goals in their last three games, a significant improvement for a side that only managed six goals in their previous 23 league matches.
While this gives the team confidence, a poor goal difference of -11 remains a major concern, something Kaindu admits could be a potential tiebreaker.
With eight of their remaining nine matches scheduled to be played in Harare, including a blockbuster derby against Caps United, Dynamos has a prime opportunity to capitalize on familiar territory.
However, the poor condition of the Rufaro Stadium pitch, which coaches have condemned as a danger to players, presents a challenge.
"The big challenge is that the field is not in a very good condition," Kaindu admitted. But for a team with their backs against the wall, it's a small price to pay.
The great escape is on. The battle for survival is a matter of pride, history, and the very soul of the club. And today, against GreenFuel, Dynamos will be fighting for their lives.
