August 31 marked an important chapter in Zimbabwe’s polo history, as Thornpark Grounds in Harare witnessed the return of ladies’ international polo after a 15-year hiatus, marking a historic milestone for women's sports and polo development in southern Africa.
The Titan Law Ladies International Polo event known as "Pink Polo" was an extraordinary celebration of athleticism, skill and sportsmanship as Zimbabwe and Zambia faced off in spectacular fashion.
Team Zambia emerged triumphant from the two day event. Last Sunday’s Pink Polo match ended with Zimbabwe beating Zambia 7½ – 5.
Adding the previous day result, where Zambia won 7 – 3½, the overall tally stood at Zambia 12 – 11 on goal count.
Both teams delivered a captivating performance that kept spectators on the edge of their seats from the first chukker to the final bell.
The level of horsemanship, strategic play, and competitive spirit displayed by these talented women was nothing short of inspiring.
“The passion and dedication evident on the field reminded us all why polo is truly the sport of kings – and queens,” Titan Law said.
This ground-breaking event also symbolises the growing strength of women's polo in our region and the power of sport to unite nations.
“Titan Law is proud to support the continued growth of this magnificent sport across Zimbabwe, Zambia, and beyond.”
