Chicken Inn’s relegation remained stuck in the relegation dog fight yesterday after they were held to a 1-1 draw by CAPS United at Luveve Stadium.
The hosts drew first blood through Michael Charamba, who opened the scoring in the 69th minute. Their lead did not last long as CAPS United equalised moments later through an Ishmael Wadi header.
Chicken Inn assistant coach Philani Mabhena said he was disappointed with the result, believing his side had done enough to win the match.
“We are disappointed,” Mabhena said. “I thought the game was ours. We had better chances in the first half going into the second half.
“We scored the goal and went to sleep a bit, but we take the point though we should have won the game.”
CAPS United coach Ian Bakala said he was satisfied with the point gained.
“I think for us a point is enough. I think it’s a fair result. The guys really did well despite the draw,” Bakala said.
Chicken Inn thought they had gone ahead in first-half stoppage time when Muza headed home a Malon Mushonga cross, but the flag was raised for offside.

In the second half, Donovan Bernard made a crucial save to deny Wadi from close range.
Following the result, Chicken Inn are now on 37 points, two behind CAPS United.
