GREEN FUEL.........(0)1
Green Fuel FC managed to salvage a 1-1 draw against TelOne FC in a lively Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter played at Ascot Stadium yesterday, keeping their relegation hopes alive.
The match saw both teams create scoring opportunities, but it was Washington Navaya who broke the deadlock in the 56th minute, heading home a cross from Tawanda Macheke to give TelOne the lead.
Despite dominating possession in the first half, Green Fuel failed to capitalize on several chances, with Ronald Chitiyo, Denzel Mapuwa, and Harrison Masina all spurning opportunities. TelOne goalkeeper Criss Mverechena made several crucial saves to keep his side in the game.
In a bid to change the course of the match, Green Fuel introduced Garikai Dematsika, Perfect Chikwende, and Collins Duhwa in the second half. However, it was TelOne FC who looked threatening after taking the lead, with Green Fuel struggling to create clear-cut chances.
But in a dramatic finale, Darren Mutimuzunze snatched an equaliser for Green Fuel in the 90th minute, securing a vital point for the relegation-threatened side.
With 35 points from 32 matches, Green Fuel now face a tough task to win both of their remaining games to avoid relegation.

TelOne FC coach Herbert Maruwa felt his team was still within the right space to achieve a top-three finish.
"We've shown great resilience and determination throughout the season. If we keep pushing and maintain our form, I believe we're still within reach of a top-three finish," Maruwa said.
His counterpart and Green Fuel FC assistant coach Godfrey Tamirepi said: "We deserved to get at least all the points, but this is the nature of football where crazy things happen. It’s frustrating for us.
"We just need to go and fight another day. The only thing to do is to pick up points, win our games and continue believing as we look forward to our next game."
