Letter to my people: Stable prices and double fares: The mathematical magic of our second republic

The state of affairs at Matapi Flats are emblematic of the poverty and hardships that have worsened countrywide under the regime of the Scarfed One

My Dear People

THE tour of  Mbare’s Matapi Flats in Harare by the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission has laid bare the levels of searing poverty that has been firmly entrenched by the dispensation of poverty, darkness and confusion.

Heartrending revelations of more than 13 people residing in one room is  a damning  indictment of the gross incompetence and callousness of this regime parachuted into power on the back of guns and tanks.

The state of affairs at Matapi Flats are emblematic of the poverty and hardships that have worsened countrywide under the regime of the Scarfed One despite meaningless boasts of tremendous growth of GDP figures.

The palpable anger of the residents towards the councillor from the ruining party Zanu PF for abandoning them after the 2023 harmonised elections is sadly not surprising.

As the saying goes  the rot begins from the head.  Nothing reflects this more than the 2018 promise by Generari , that  the regime would refurbish Matapi Flats into modern apartments with  swimming pools.

That this has remained unfulfilled eight years later, shows the shameful levels of deception by the so called second repubric.

“We have a comprehensive master plan for the home industries and the Mbare hostels to the extent that wherever we reconstruct a block of flats, there will be swimming pools for children and kindergartens,” Generari said then.

“Mbare will be the first place that we going to develop in Harare, and those that had relocated to Borrowdale and Mt Pleasant will come back to Mbare.”

Needless to say this has remained a pipe dream with the residents swimming in pools of sewage instead.

The severity of the crisis at Matapi Flats against the backdrop of zvigananda  looting the country’s resources left right and centre further shows why the coup that removed  Gushungo, one of the continent’s wisest leaders, remains one of the darkest periods  this country has experienced since independence in 1980.

Munopengaaa!!!

The statement by the central bank board   singing praises of the Reserve Bank and the Scarfed One over the single figure digit inflation feat is an exercise in industrial size delusion.

There is nothing to celebrate when the funny money called Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) cannot even be used to buy fuel or a passport. It is telling that the Scarfed One and his close allies whom include the burly ex-convict and trendpreneur Weaknail have never  used the funny money,  but prefer   United States dollars instead when dishing it out like confetti at a wedding .

It is preposterous in the extreme to celebrate the local currency single digit inflation when the funny money is shunned in various parts of the country which include Bulawayo and Masvingo.

It is ludicrous for the board to hail single digit inflation of the local currency when it is achieved on the back of unpaid contractors and miners probably in the fear of skyrocketing inflation.

Even a ZiG 100 million loan facility provided by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce requires one, among other things, to pay  a non-refundable facilitation fee of US$100, clearly showing the insatiable appetite for forex which undermines the funny money.

This makes the claim by John the Second that the country’s citizens now prefer to save in the funny money than in the greenback all the more laughable.

At a time the regime is singing about  price stability, transport fares to some suburbs have doubled which will likely have a trigger effect in increasing prices of goods and services.

All in all the premature celebration of the single inflation digit of the local currency is much ado about nothing.

Munopengaaa!!!

The gift less professor is at it again!! After his preposterous use of biblical terms to justify  being a turncoat and his fulsome praise of the regime ’s running of the economy, which he  had previously castigated, Prof Dhanyero has made the absurd claim that those  University of Zimbabwe professors who claim to  be in poverty and blame the ruining Zanu PF are fake professors.

It seems that the ungifted professor has become tone deaf since cozying up to the regime with the 30 pieces of silver that accompany it.

That Prof Dhanyero insinuates that university professors must monetise themselves through hustling is indicative of the failure of the regime to pay decent wages to these scholars.

It is a gratuitous insult that such outlandish claims are coming in the wake of Scarfmore regime’s failure to address the concern of the very same professors whose wages were decimated by more than 80 percent due to its disastrous currency gymnastics.

For Prof Dhanyero to blame  UZ professors for being fake  for claiming poverty when they are earning less than US$300 shows how detached  he has become to the reality on the ground and  how he has joined the Scarfmore regime in having their heads stuck in the sand. I

It is one thing for the giftless professor to have his snout entrenched in the feeding trough but it’s quite another to thumb his nose to UZ professors struggling to  make end meet as a result of the inept Scarfmore regime.
