The planned demonstrations against the pillaging of the country’s supreme law on July 31 have surely spooked the dispensation of poverty, darkness, and confusion.
The mere mention of the planned protests by the media has resulted in furious rants on the microblogging site X from the likes of presidential loudmouth Joji.
The threat of arrests and imprisonment for those who exercise their constitutional right to protest on July 31—by officials of the regime as well as its hangers-on—is a clear indication of the erosion of democracy since the Scarfed One was propelled into power on the back of guns and tanks.
In true banana republic style, we now have a ridiculous situation whereby those accused of rape are given bail while those who exercise their democratic right to criticise the regime are arrested, denied bail, and thrown into cells along with murderers and rapists.
It is indicative of how democracy in the country has "gone to the dogs" when citizens are jailed for exercising their right to protest while convicted gold smugglers and drug dealers are slapped with paltry fines without spending a day in prison.
This, my dear people, is the kind of leadership you celebrated during that coup in 2017, which resulted in the disgraceful removal of the telescopically foresighted and wisdom-imbued Gushungo.
For those of you who celebrated the shameful removal of Gushungo to be replaced by this probity-deficient regime, I am sure you have now learnt the hard way that "all that glitters is not gold."

Hardly has the ink dried on the signature of the Scarfed One to butcher the constitution which extends his vapid leadership before there are now calls for the octogenarian to extend his tenure further to 2037.
It would be comical if it were not so tragic.
We heard the ill-willed buffoons howl that Scarfmore should continue his leadership—which has been characterised by entrenched poverty, increased joblessness, embarrassing levels of corruption, nepotism, and currency failures—beyond 2030.
It is hard not to suspect that this declaration is being orchestrated from the very top.
We should not be surprised by such calls from such quarters, as they are the same mandarins who once called for the complete removal of term limits to allow the Scarfed One to entrench his bankrupt leadership indefinitely.
These bizarre declarations have nothing to do with the hogwash we are told regarding the octogenarian's "exceptional leadership."
It is all to do with the Scarfed One clinging tenaciously to power to allow them to continue to feast on the country’s fat at the expense of the impoverished majority. Second Republic, my foot!!!
If there was any doubt about just how toxic this inept regime is, one needs to look no further than the alarming statistics of more than 560 women who died during childbirth last year alone.
There is, of course, no doubt that there are many more cases than those recorded, especially among the rural population and other far-flung areas of the country.
These heartbreaking statistics are a damning indictment of the risible neglect of the health sector by a regime obsessed with power retention, as evidenced by how it gives priority to dishing out state-of-the-art vehicles and other trinkets to village chiefs, musicians, and comedians at the expense of the country's dilapidated healthcare system.
This is why I get so angry when I hear preposterous outbursts by those who oversee the health ministry, making foolish promises of helipads on hospitals and free healthcare for all when they cannot even provide basic medicines, such as painkillers, in hospitals.
It is nothing short of ridiculous to bleat about helipads when hundreds of Starlink kits installed at rural health centres gather dust as a result of the failure to pay subscription payments. This is evidence of failure on steroids.
What has become of the hearings over Gukurahundi launched by the regime? The launch of the Gukurahundi hearings—addressing events in which an estimated 20 000 people died as a result of state-sponsored violence in the Midlands and Matabeleland regions in the mid-1980s—has been a huge farce.
Instead of public revelations by those who were affected by the savage attacks, the process has been couched in secrecy and supervised by chiefs who are the beneficiaries of various trinkets donated by the regime, including state-of-the-art vehicles.
The only aspect of the hearings that has been publicised is the number of people who have testified in front of unnamed individuals.
This is a travesty that will not bring any closure to those who bore the brunt of these attacks.
If anything, the opaque manner in which the hearings are being carried out will only add insult to injury. What a crying shame.
