Mr Kata has delved into mental health welfare particularly in men, who are usually neglected in his new song- Ex.
The song is about how men are driven into mental health problems and depression by women and toxic relationships yet they are expected to be 'strong' and bottle it in.
The song, which was released last week, features Visionaries Brothers and Nani the Vocalist.
"I wrote the song "Ex" around the time, there was all these suicide stories and people started having all these conversations about men's mental health," said Mr Kata.
He said at one time he felt low and did not mind dying.
"It made me put my own mental health in question. Let me say I have never contemplated suicide, but I've had moments I felt so low, I wouldn't have minded dying," he said.
"Break ups are not easy, and most times it almost always happens when everything else in your life is also falling apart. So you've got to be strong."
However, Mr Kata said the song was not influenced by his own break up experiences.

"Everytime someone listens to ‘Ex’ for the first time I always get one question about, who broke my heart,” he said.
“I laugh and tell them I wrote that song when I was very single, two years single actually.
“The song doesn't point out to one individual, it’s a song for anyone going through a break up or divorce whether it’s a man or woman, it’s for everyone."
Mr Kata added: "Gender-based violence against men is also very real, there are women out there that will brutally attack a man or emotionally abuse him, knowing very well if he retaliates she'll run straight to the police.
“The song Ex is about saying enough is enough and simply acknowledging someone is not good for you, the relationship has become toxic and it’s time to walk away."
