Clergyman spearheads skills development

Madzibaba Biggie Musanzika

Prominent apostolic indigenous church in Centenary has embarked on skills auditing, identification and development among its membership, with others reportedly investing in farming, metal fabrication, carpentry and counselling services.

Speaking during a combined weeklong spiritual and skills development convention, Johane Masowe eChishanu Centenary leader, Madzibaba Biggie Musanzika (also known as, Prophet Jonah) said it was the responsibility of indigenous churches to complement government policy for skills development.

“We have found it noble to complement the government's policy on skills auditing, identification and development,” he said.

“This would, therefore, help the communities in contributing towards realisation of national development strategies one, two and Vision 2030 in general.

“As a church, we identify the existing skills throughout our assemblies, categorise them into various sections and allocate funds to make sure they add value to those available skills in our for community development.”

The popular cleric said a number of “graduates” have ventured into organic farming, aquaculture, metal fabrication, carpentry and counselling services, among other projects.

“With these skills, it will enable them to make ends meet and transform lives in various communities,” Madzibaba Jonah said.

“These are other contributions which we are doing as churches to make sure Zimbabwe attains an upper-middle income economic status by 2030.”
